Black Diamond Ranch Golf--rated one of the best in the world (FL area).

I have recently "Craigslisted" an ad aimed at "foreign folks," who may want to visit the Florida Nature Coast (mid-state Gulf Coast area I like to call "Mid-state Golf Coast," for a great reason.

This area, about 50-100 miles north of Tampa Bay (about the same west of Orlando) has several of Florida's finest golf courses. This is not only a fantastic place to live, but is truly "golf heaven." The Nature Coast has so much more appeal than merely golf, as well. (When you come back, there will be more info on the Nature Coast here).

My wife and I came here for the golf, though. We have belonged to:

for 17 years now and the only reason we would ever even think about moving away would be if the economy tanks worse than it has already.

"Captain Jim," (that's me) is a retired airline pilot, who recently lost a huge percentage of his retirement pension, due to some questionable rulings by an allegedly corrupt judge and airline CEO/board of directors. The judge was "convinced" that the airline could not survive bankruptcy if it had to pay "non-qualified pensions." I now receive my qualified pension from the PBGC (Pension Benefit Gurarantee Corp.--sort of "social security" for corporation pensions. Enough of the crybaby stuff.

We have a passion for this golf community--No. 1-rated in the state. Our 45 holes of championship, Tom Fazio-design, have consistantly polled in the top five in Florida. Both full 18-hole courses (The Quarry and The Ranch) have also always rated in the top 100-in-the-world since opening, by virtually every premier golf magazine that rates that kind of thing.

Since retiring and losing much of my pension, I have "renewed" my Florida real estate sales license, hoping to supplement the pension and social security income I have left. Hence, the Craigslist listings. Here's what they tout: (see if anything may apply to you, as you are "invited."
